Welcome to MyWelder!

We’re here to build a safe, reliable, and fair marketplace for both customers and welding specialists across the UK. To keep things running smoothly, we ask everyone to follow a few simple rules.

🔒 Keeping Profiles Safe & Anonymous

To protect everyone's privacy and ensure all jobs are backed by our platform support, public profiles are kept anonymous until a booking is made:

  • Contact Info: Phone numbers, email addresses, personal websites, and social media links are strictly forbidden on public profiles and forum posts.
  • Location: Customers will only see your town or city (e.g., Poole). Your exact home address and full postcode are never shared publicly.

📸 Photo & Work Showcase Rules

We love seeing your work! When uploading photos of past projects, please make sure they follow these guidelines:

  • No Logos or Advertising: Photos must strictly focus on your craftsmanship. Uploading business cards, flyers, company logos, contact numbers, or website URLs is forbidden.
    • First Offense: The image will be deleted immediately, and a formal warning will be issued to your account.
    • Repeat Offense: Any subsequent attempt to bypass this rule will result in immediate profile deletion and a permanent ban from MyWelder.
  • Keep Personal Details Out: Make sure photos don't show phone numbers, website links, or vehicle license plates.
  • No Branded Apparel: Avoid photos where contact numbers on work vans or company shirts are clearly visible.
  • Automatic Protection: To protect your images, MyWelder automatically removes hidden location data (EXIF) and adds a standard platform watermark (MyWelder.co.uk).

💬 Chat & Direct Contact Policy

  • Stay on the Platform: All initial chats, quotes, and project discussions must happen through MyWelder’s internal messaging.
  • Why this matters: Arranging jobs outside the platform leaves both parties without customer support, official protection, or review rights. Accounts trying to bypass the system will be suspended.

Forum Rules

Our forum is a space to share trade knowledge, ask questions, and chat about welding projects.

  • Be Respectful: Keep discussions friendly and professional.
  • Post in the Right Spot: Put your topic in the best category (Car Welding, Structural Steel, Gate Repair, Tools, etc.).
  • No Advertising: Don't use forum topics to spam promotional offers or direct phone numbers. Use our Post a Job feature for real work.
  • Join to Post: Anyone can read the forum, but you’ll need a free account to post questions or replies.
